Triage-First Stop Care
All women who come
to the Birthing Center make their first stop in
an area called, "triage." This is where an initial
evaluation is done by a Registered Nurse to see
whether or not you are in labor and to assess the
health status of both the mother and the baby. If
it is determined you are in labor you will be moved
to one of our spacious LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery
and postpartum) rooms. Theses rooms were designed
with you and your family in mind.
In the "Triage" area a variety of outpatient procedures
are done to assure the well being of you and your
baby. The type of test done may include a non stress
test or an oxytocin challenge test.
We have between 1200 and 1400 triage visits each
year. Our triage area was designed to provide you
with comfort and privacy.
