day Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and Tuesday

Dr. James Grannell graduated from Michigan
State University in East Lansing, Michigan
in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Zoology. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine degree in 1978 after graduating from
the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan
State University.
He served his internship and residency in
Orthopedic Surgery at Botsford General Hospital
in Farmington Hills, Michigan where he was
the Chief Surgical resident and Senior Chief
Orthopedic resident. During his residency
he received specialized training in hand surgery,
arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine and
total joint arthroplasty. He also completed
a special AO/ASIF Fellowship Program in the
study of internal fixation and is a member
of the AO Fellowship Alumni Organization.
Since 1983 Dr. Grannell has been in private
practice with privileges at Lakeland Hospital,
Niles Michigan; Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital,
Dowagiac, Michigan; and Lakeland Hospital,
St. Joseph, Michigan.
Dr. Grannell's special medical interests include
arthroscopic rotator cuff and shoulder surgery,
oxford unicompartmental total knee arthroplasty,
total joint replacement, reverse total shoulder
arthroplasty, endoscopic carpal ligament surgery,
computer navigated knee arthroplasty, sports
medicine and fracture care.
Dr. Grannell is Board Certified in orthopedic
surgery and is a member of the following Associations:
American Osteopathic Association, American
College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American
Osteopathic Association of Orthopedic Surgeons
of Indiana, Association of the Osteopathic
Physicians & Surgeons, and the A.O. Fellowship
Alumni Organization.
Dr. Grannell graduated from Benton Harbor
High School. He went on to receive an athletic
scholarship to play football at Michigan State
University where he received a varsity letter.
He and his wife, Diane, have been married
for over 30 years and have four children.
They have resided in Niles Michigan for the
past 25 years where they were active in the
community. Dr. Grannell has coached junior
high, junior varsity football and was a member
of the Niles School Board for eight years
including a stint as president.
He and his wife are very much looking forward
to relocating to the Sturgis Community.
